Preparing for an audition?

Working on a self-tape?

How do you rehearse on your own to create vivid characters, narrative and atmosphere for yourself?

This workshop will introduce you to acting techniques that you can apply on your own to develop and rehearse a monologue for your next audition, self-tape or even performance.

Acting Approaches we will explore:
- Starting with Stanislavsky's 'Given Circumstances', we will map out the life of the character and script into a world that you can inhabit.

- Moving on to Michael Chekhov's 'Atmosphere' work, we will generate the world of the script around you through your senses.

- Next, using elements of Stanislavsky's 'Active Analysis' and Meisner's 'Repetition Technique', we will work on fostering the imagined world to become a reality for you to inhabit and rehearse in.

- You will also have the opportunity to perform for a live audience within the workshop to practice your performance!
