Khairul Kamsani

Playwright, Producer & Director

... is a Singaporean theatre auteur who challenges the limits of theatre bound by rules and concepts of the traditional. Technology and spatial design is employed heavily in his work.

He has written, produced and directed three plays under the helm of his own theatre production company: 'The Cherry Orchard'. Fracture: The End, The Middle & The Beginning (2012), Human+ (2014) and Discord of Discourse (2015). Human+ (2017) is a departure from 'The Cherry Orchard' and produced independently.

Khairul is currently Resident Assistant Director at Singapore Repertory Theatre. Having assistant directed on all their shows from January 2016 - September 2017.

Mainstage: Shakespeare in the Parks' Romeo & Juliet, Forbidden City: Portrait of an Empress, Disgraced, Constellations, Art and Hand to God, 

The Little Company: The Three Billy Goats Gruff (Mandarin), Hanuman: The Superhero Monkey, The Three Little Pigs, Charlotte's Web and A Peter Rabbit Tale.

Come Oct 2017 he will be pursuing a MFA in 'Directing: Actor Training & Coaching' at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, in London. Will probably return to kick some ass in theatre making and actor training.
